Hop Tech SeeMore

Smore Music Prescribed

Quasimoto - The Further Adventures of Lord Quas - Do you need more proof that Madlib is a hip hop god. Madvillain to Quasimoto to Victor Vaughn. Kanye who ? Now, we just need Beans to hookup Madlib.

Boom Bip - Corymb - On Lex Records a sorta hip-hop label off-shoot of Warp Records. Live BBC stuff to mixes from Venetian Snares, Boards of Canada, Four Tet, Lali Puna, etc.. Good stuff. Playing at Bottom of the Hill soon.

Music For Children Compilation (Bruchsturcke/Kompakt) - A 2 year old minimal house/tech compilation from the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Dandy Jack, Thomas Fehlmann and others. Great cover.

Motown Remixed - I love motown. It's shaped the good and the bad pop music of today. Here they have Z-Trip, King Britt, DJ Spinna and others remix some classic artists such as the Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye. Some of the tracks work, but overall it seems like an attempt to cash-in on the Blue Note-remix-everything tip that seems to be going on the last 5 years or so.

Ark - Caliente - On Perlon Records, one of the best minimal tech labels today. This album does not stick to the minimal house vibe. Weird abstract to minimal pop. A good listen.
