Koushik, Jamie Lidell, Four Tet @ the Independent

Last nights show brought together Jamie Lidell and Kieren Hebden (Four Tet)who have released some of the best music in the last year. Jamie Lidell's foray into R&B funkiness was in full effect last night as he was dressed in full kimono/robe pimp gear tweaking knobs on the keyboard, beatboxing and crooning away as Stevie Wonder in an Englishman's body. He stole the show and it would be great to hear him with a full-on band. Koushik opened up the evening djing soul and r&b records. And Four Tet closed out the evening tweaking away at his great catalog of tunes, but it didn't have the same energy as Jamie Lidell. Oh well. Some music is better enjoyed in the comforts of one own home, or skating around aimlessly throughout San Francisco trying to dodge tourists.
