mixes and compilations are such weird things. there's the faction of people that are totally against it and feel it is just a promotional tool where what a dj/producer creates should only be in the moment, live. and playing live, well that's a whole different animal. the only thing i'm here to promote is good music. well, music i enjoy and feel that has a life within itself.

these things usually take me a few weeks of editing and overanalyzing things such as key, bpm, mood and who knows what else. this one was pretty quick. it took about 4 hours start to finish. i've had a running playlist for a few weeks of some songs that i thought would go well together, but more importantly songs I enjoyed. about three quarters of those songs made it and the rest was done on the fly, so maybe the total time was more than 4 hours. levels might be off and everything isn't perfect, but it was done in the moment.

this is the 2006 version of my mixtape.
