The Twilight Singers - There's Been An Accident (Rock)
a return to whigs like form. powder burns is the closes to the whigs since greg dulli and company parted ways. with contributions from ani difranco, joseph arthur as well as whigs' john curley, this is a good taste before the inevitable reunion next year.

Jeremy Enigk - Cannons (Singer Songwriter)
frontman for sunny day real estate and the fire theft. enigk returns to a solo posture with more melancholy thrown over his overly dramatic song structures. very lighthearted indeed.

Squarepusher - The Modern Bass Guitar (Abstract Beats)
after playing at some benefit where flea from the red hot chili peppers was also on he bill, flea declared tom jenkinson as the greatest bassist today. who knows about that, but i do think that if miles davis was still alive today he would most assuredly be collaborating with mister jenkinson. most of the synth lines here are played from his midi enabled bass guitar. what ?

Skipsapiens - Abstracciones En Reversa (Beats)
this mutek release from daniel nieto & pier bucci contains bright colors with slightly off centered rhythms. a collage of something.

Zavoloka & Agf - Trees-Zhuravlyna (Abstract)
from the packaging to the 50 tracks, this is interesting, weird, difficult, provacative and every other word/feeling that makes you come back again and again to see/listen.

The Dolls - Martini Never Dries (Abstract Beats)
this is a supergroup of vladislav delay, craig armstrong and AGF. it's probably the most straightforward thing they can do, but it's still a bit off center. abstract lounge ?
