Richard Devine/Deadbeat......w/ a kasabian review

let me just premise by saying that i get a lot of music sent to me via cd and mp3 from artists and street promotional firms which I know well because it was one of my side jobs in college. anywho, if i get something and i dig it, i'll post it up. so, from one of those street firms who have sent me some good stuff, this one goes to the category of not-so-good hence no attachment of music from said band to the post. full disclosure is necessary. i am not a vehicle for the selling of your bad commodity. i am hopefully, a source of musical discovery for others. that being said, out of respect for all of the good music i have received from this promotional company, i will post this kasabian review .

their first cd. promising brit pop. elements of the stone roses. rock/pop/beats. a bit contrived at times, but still a glimmer of hope for a debut cd. come on, pablo honey. empire has boring melodies. the rhythm makes nothing move. it was forgetful , but......sometimes things wear well. i doubt this one will though, but you never know. (please insert stupid emoticon here)

okay....
now onto the good stuff
last friday night
i was back at the church of recombinant media labs
and holy holy
i was more than willing to make a charitable donation

richard devine and deadbeat
a visual demo was at the beginning
no visuals were presented during both of their sets
it was
a wave of noise in dub and abstact
that engulfed an area of the brain
that was previously left motionless

beautifully strange
yet always recognizable..........

Aphex Twin - Come To Daddy (Richard Devine Trapezoid Mix) (Abstract Beats)

Deadbeat - Fun...K (Dub, Techno)
