Sporadicly Best

enjoy the jive turkey today.
nice to have 4 days off.
time to catch up on thingzzz.

jeff mills on saturday.
finally.
with speedy j this past year and now, jeff mills, catching up on the detroit techno history slowly. just need to catch atkins, may and saunderson in some other place than the supper club or booby skye. check out hi tech soul, a great documentary on detroit techno focusing on the belleville 3.

just checked out the new richie hawtin documentary from slices magazine. it's about time a doc was done for this master of techno. it gives a great overview of his career as plastikman, +8 co-founder, m-nus label founder and all around icon, but i think it misses in showing the aspect of his djing skills which puts him in demand all over the world. if you come in with that knowledge it is something that fills in some of the gaps and again, gives a great overview of his career. and though his minimal plastikman production skills have converged with his equally mind-blowing dj skills these days, he works as these 2 entities that can be appreciated separately, and makes him one of the most important artists in music of our time. along with radiohead and bjork, it's something that has to be experienced and felt in a live environment. it transcends what your ears are processing and takes you to a place that you never thought was there.

TV On The Radio - Young Liars (Acoustic on The Interface)
