After going through everyone's best-of 2007 list including my mail person, the local garbage men, and my buddy's 2 year old who can't even talk yet, it seems that radiohead, arcade fire, lcd soundsystem, m.i.a. and burial are on everyone's list. I agree. Great releases, for sure. Well, enjoy the holiday season.

José González - Cycling Trivialities (Singer Songwriter) - another great song from a great 2007 release. it seems that everyone with an acoustic guitar and a mournful delivery seems to be compared to nick drake, but this postman of sadness comes the closest.

Alexandre Desplat - The Engagement (Classical) - from the excellent jonathan glazer film, 'birth'. this songs conveys a sense of hope, false hope.

Soul Coughing - City Of Motors (???) - a great band that should reform. from the intricate wordplay, grooving upright bass, obscure sampling and the amazing drumming. this track shows of yuval gabay's incredible sense of rhythm. they were one of the best live bands. the obscure muddled voice throughout the song is tori amos. hah
