At Church, Cover Yourself

Church on Church (Street), 2008
I'm trying to bring back the hokey-pokey as a legitimate dance style. Are you with me people ?
Here are some songs that would make a great accompaniment for the retro dance move.
LCD Soundsystem - No Love Lost (Joy Division) - I think this sounds more like Joy Division than the original. Is that possible ?I think if I had a big house party, and the money, I would hire James Murphy and co.. Ask me 20 years ago, it would have been Oingo Boingo. Hmmmmmm
Arcade Fire - Brazil (Ary Barroso) - From the title to the brilliant Terry Gilliam movie, Brazil. A whimsical song for a movie that appears to have that same light airiness on the outside, but in reality at the heart, it's a dark and twisted tale. Kinda like a clown.
The Blood Brothers - Under Pressure (Queen & David Bowie) - Extreme as only the former Brothers of Blood know how to do it. I think it works well for this song, but nothing can top the Van Winkle version. To the extreme....
Editors - Lullaby (The Cure) - The classic track from the darkly lit Disentegration album. Covered by one of the Ian Curtis sounding like bands. The other being Interpol. This should have been the title track for any of the awful Spiderman movies.
Labels: arcade fire, blood brothers, covers, editors, lcd soundsystem
