Spoon - Finer Feelings (Alternative Rock) - i've never been a big fan of spoon. interesting songwriter, but never got hooked. this album brought me into the fold and it brings together the 60's pop/soul with interesting arrangements and great songs.

The Cinematic Orchestra - Breathe (Downtempo) - Fontella Bass brings her old skool torch bearing voice to this dramatic soundscape.

Deadbeat - Melbourne Round Midnight (Dub) - this track is from his new release 'journeyman's annual' and it further expands with guest mc's and vocalists to help meld tech with dub.

Pan-Pot - Lancelot Von Camelot (Barem Remix) (Techno) - a nice straight-up up techno track. call it minimal, call it progressive. whatever. it has layers and layers of rhythms.

The Tuss - Last Rushup 10 (Abstract Beats, IDM) - alter ego of Richer D James aka Aphex Twin. probably. manic mental states defined in a song structure. a bit retro like his piano overlord releases, but he never sounds like anyone, and no one can ever emulate how he sounds.
